This year’s Champions Cup media representatives have come up with one surprise – they chose the youngest Tatran player Marek Vávra as one of the five-member all star team. The eighteen-year old Prague forward has appeared side by side with such famous floorball names as Mika Kohonen or Tero Tiitu. David Rytych defending the goal of the victorious SSV Helsinki has been voted for as the best goalkeeper.
IF Djurgårdens IBF has not only won this year’s women Champions cup but can also pride itself on having four of its players in the female all-star team.
The CC cup men’s final offered everything a good game should offer – goals, chances on both sides, number of individual duels and a very dramatic conclusion. SSV Helsinki bettered their Czech opponents by one goal and are the ones to leave with this year’s gold Champions cup.
Djurgardens beat Finnish SC Classic quite easily and therefore is the one to take the gold Champions Cup to Sweden. The Nordic battle offered attractive but sometimes rather one-sided floorball. The Swedish players took complete control of the field towards the end of the game and their victory was deserved.
After the evening match against Wiler Tatran Střešovice may celebrate their advance into the final and continue to plan their tactic. The Czech elite team beat the Swiss champion Wiler-Ersigen after sudden-death overtime. The final takes place on Saturday at 3 pm, Tatran will fight in it against Finnish SSV Helsinki.
